Okan Karacan detained over alleged laptop theft in Istanbul
Actor and presenter Okan Karacan was detained in Şişli, Istanbul, following allegations of laptop theft. The incident occurred on February 27, 2026, at an event space on Darülaceze Avenue. The complainant, E. Ş. A., reported the theft to the Şişli Police Department on March 2, claiming security footage identified Karacan as the individual who took the device.
During questioning, Karacan denied theft intent, stating he took the laptop by mistake. He further alleged that E. Ş. A. and three others assaulted him, kidnapped him, and struck him five times with a gun grip.
