Okanagan College and Royal Canadian Air Force form training partnership

Okanagan College has entered into an agreement with the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) to bolster military and defence capabilities through its Aircraft Maintenance Engineering program. Under this partnership, RCAF members will undergo training at the Kelowna and Vernon airports.

In October, twenty-two members of the RCAF joined the college program. The initiative is designed to diversify training opportunities for aircraft technicians during a period of growth for the RCAF. Participants will reside in the college’s campus housing in Vernon during their training period.

This collaboration aligns with Canada’s Defence Industrial Strategy by connecting academia and industry to train technicians capable of maintaining sophisticated military aircraft. The program includes two specific aircraft maintenance tracks: structures and mechanical.
