Okanagan International Film Festival returns after 10-year hiatus
The Okanagan International Film Festival (OKIFF) is returning to the Okanagan region after a nearly 10-year hiatus. Scheduled for October 15 to 18, the reimagined festival aims to support the growing local film and TV industry by showcasing Canadian, international, and Indigenous films.
The event has already attracted approximately 150 film submissions from 20 different countries across six continents. In addition to film screenings, the festival will feature its first-ever co-production market to facilitate global collaborations.
Screenings are set to take place at Landmark Cinemas in Kelowna, West Kelowna, and Penticton, as well as the Galaxy theatre in Vernon. OKIFF director and Canadian actor Damon Gregory noted that the region is an emerging hub for film and television production.
