Okanagan Manufacturing Database expansion to boost local supply chains

The Central Okanagan Economic Development Commission (COEDC) is expanding the Okanagan Manufacturing Database, transitioning the platform from a regional directory into a manufacturing intelligence tool. The initiative aims to strengthen local supply chains and provide deeper insights into the regional manufacturing sector.

The enhanced platform will allow businesses to search for manufacturers based on specific products, services, capabilities, and industries. This is intended to help companies identify suppliers, partners, and new market opportunities. The next phase of the project will collect standardized data regarding participating manufacturers, including their export activity, inputs, supply risk, and geographic markets.

Manufacturers from Osoyoos to Salmon Arm are encouraged to participate by October 15 by submitting or updating their business information via an online form. Loyal Wooldridge, Chair of the Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO), noted that increasing visibility through the database can help local businesses remain resilient and competitive amidst trade uncertainty.
