Okanagan Sun dominate season opener, extend win streak to 26 games
The Okanagan Sun opened their 2026 British Columbia Football Conference (BCFC) campaign with a 45-17 victory over the Vancouver Island Raiders in Nanaimo, marking their 26th consecutive regular‑season win. Quarterback Jared Kroeger threw for 301 yards with two touchdowns and one interception, while rookie running back Jaxon Allan scored four touchdowns, three on the ground and one receiving, rushing for 98 yards on 19 carries.
The Sun’s offense exploded in the second half, scoring 31 unanswered points after the Raiders briefly took a 17‑14 lead early in the third quarter. Wide receiver Devontae Mozee contributed six catches for 138 yards and a touchdown on a 65‑yard strike.
