Okayama hosts community sports festival and youth marathon

Various sporting events were held at the JFE Sunny Country Stadium in Okayama, involving local students and youth athletes.

As part of the ‘IPU Sports Link’ regional cooperation program, students from the Department of Physical Education at IPU International University of Health and Welfare planned and managed several interactive booths during the 84th Okayama City Sports Festival. These activities included soccer clinics, sports quizzes, and various physical challenges designed for all ages. Students managed everything from registration and safety to mascot performances to engage the community.

Additionally, the 39th Chibikko Health Marathon took place in Okayama City, featuring approximately 1,000 elementary school runners from across the prefecture. Participants competed in races ranging from 1.5 to 3 kilometers. The event, which aims to promote physical and mental health through sports, was supported by members of the Tenmaya Group Women's Athletics Club.
