Okinawa amateur baseball stars to face Japan Winter League pros

A special exhibition match titled ‘面白法人カヤック presents Okinawa Grass Baseball All-Stars VS JWL All-Stars’ is scheduled for December 5, 2026, at Koza Shinkin Stadium in Okinawa. The event features 20 local amateur players—including professionals in other fields such as hotel staff and rice merchants—competing against international players from the Japan Winter League (JWL) who are striving for professional contracts.

The Okinawa Grass Baseball All-Stars will be selected from participants of the Orion Super Baseball tournament through a combination of manager selection and public voting. Fans can cast votes at Aeon Mall Okinawa Rycom by submitting receipts from specialty stores.

The Japan Winter League is an annual tryout league held in Okinawa that attracts players from approximately 16 countries. The upcoming match aims to provide a platform for local amateur talent to test their skills against global prospects while boosting interest in baseball within the Okinawa region.
