Okinawa Mirai AI & IT College launches student-led business problem-solving project
Okinawa Mirai AI & IT College has launched a project inviting companies and organizations to consult on everyday operational challenges. The initiative aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical application by having students identify, visualize, and propose solutions for business issues, potentially leading to full-scale system development.
As part of this project, the school held ‘AI Challenge Day’ on August 24, 2026, where 15 students worked on real-world tasks provided by License Academy Co., Ltd. Using Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN), students proposed AI-driven improvements, such as automating data transfers from Excel to LINE and creating systems to optimize staff scheduling and reduce transcription errors.
The project is supported by mentor students who underwent three months of specialized training supervised by Associate Professor Yosuke Omori of the University of the Ryukyus. The school is currently seeking further consultations from businesses regarding small-scale issues like information sharing, staff allocation, and schedule management.
