Okinawa to host first BOAT RACE VR Splash Battle attraction tour

The BOAT RACE Promotion Foundation is bringing its ‘BOAT RACE VR Splash Battle’ truck to Okinawa for the first time. This immersive virtual reality attraction allows participants to experience boat racing through synchronized wind, water splashes, and boat vibrations.

The tour will visit three locations over six days: Aeon Mall Okinawa Rycom in August, the 71st Okinawa Zenko Eisa Festival in September, and Ias Okinawa Toyosaki. The experience is free for participants aged four and older.

The initiative aims to promote the appeal of boat racing and strengthen recruitment efforts in the region. Currently, people from Okinawa make up less than 1% of the approximately 1,600 registered boat racers.
