Okinawa traditional crafts showcased at fair in Ginza

An Okinawa Crafts Fair was held from September 11 to 13 at the Jiji Press Hall in Ginza, Tokyo. The event showcased 18 different types of traditional crafts from 12 regions within Okinawa, including textiles, lacquerware, pottery (yachimun), and sanshin musical instruments.

In addition to exhibitions, the fair featured live demonstrations by artisans and hands-on experience corners for visitors. The event also served as a business platform, facilitating trade negotiations between craftsmen and industry buyers. A special section was established to commemorate the reconstruction of Shuri Castle, featuring commemorative products and informational panels.
