Oklahoma authorities rule influencer Sara Gilson's death a homicide

Medical examiner results have officially confirmed the cause of death for TikTok influencer Sara Gilson, who was found dead in her Oklahoma home in July. Authorities have classified her death as a homicide resulting from a gunshot wound to the head.

Investigators believe Gilson’s estranged husband, Jeremiah ‘Shawn’ Duffey, shot her before taking his own life. Duffey’s death has been officially ruled a suicide, with toxicology reports showing no presence of drugs or alcohol. At the time of the incident, a child was present in the house and placed an emergency call during which screams and a loud noise were reportedly heard.

Prior to the incident, Gilson had sought a protective order against Duffey. He was also under investigation for the alleged sexual misconduct of a minor basketball player he coached. Shortly before her death, Gilson had publicly accused Duffey of being a pedophile on social media.
