Oklahoma City Comets defeat Rochester Red Wings for AAA National Championship

The Oklahoma City Comets defeated the Rochester Red Wings 5-2 in extra innings to claim the AAA National Championship in Las Vegas.

Rochester established an early 2-0 lead following hits by Leandro Pineda and Liover Peguero. However, the Red Wings' offense stalled as Oklahoma City's pitching staff maintained a shutout through seven innings. The game shifted in the eighth inning when Eddy Yean allowed two runs to tie the score. After a scoreless ninth, the Comets broke the tie in the top of the 10th inning when Alek Thomas hit a three-run double, loading the bases and driving in the decisive runs.

Despite a late attempt by Rochester in the bottom of the 10th, including a run scored by Trey Lipscomb on a double play, the Red Wings could not overcome the deficit. The Comets, an affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, entered the game as the Pacific Coast League champions with a league-leading 4.30 ERA.
