Oklahoma City Thunder prepare for 2026-27 season after roster overhaul

The Oklahoma City Thunder are entering training camp for the 2026-27 NBA season following a period of significant roster restructuring. General Manager Sam Presti has overseen the departure of several key contributors, including Lu Dort, Aaron Wiggins, and Isaiah Joe, in an effort to “reimagine” the team.

To fill the void of approximately 10,000 vacated minutes, the Thunder have integrated new talent, including rookies Aday Mara and Bennett Stirtz. The team is also looking to improve specific statistical areas, such as offensive rebounding and shot-blocking, through the addition of big men like Isaiah Hartenstein and the development of the incoming rookie class.

While the roster has changed, the core remains centered around two-time reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. The team's depth has been bolstered by various training camp signees on Exhibit 10 deals, including Zhaire Smith and Christoph Tilly, as the organization seeks to build upon its recent competitive standing in the Western Conference.
