Oklahoma court upholds burglary conviction for theft at Toby Keith's farm

The Oklahoma Criminal Court of Appeals has upheld the conviction of Anthony Borges, a Choctaw Nation citizen, for second-degree burglary. The case involves the theft of four Bud Light beers from the property of the late musician Toby Keith.

According to prosecutors, the incident occurred at Dream Walkin' Farms, Keith’s horse breeding and racing facility. Borges allegedly entered an unoccupied cabana through an unlocked sliding glass door, where he discovered a mini-fridge. After taking four cans of beer, he reportedly consumed one while looking through family vehicles in a garage.

Borges had appealed the conviction, arguing that prosecutors failed to prove he entered the property with the intent to steal. However, the court maintained the original ruling. He was convicted in 2025 and faces a recommended prison sentence of two years.
