Oklahoma State defense bolstered by veteran transfers

The No. 18 Oklahoma State Cowboys have achieved a successful 4-1 start under new head coach Eric Morris, driven by a high-scoring offense and a defense bolstered by experienced transfers. The offense is led by Big 12 passing leader Drew Mestemaker.

On the defensive side, the team relies on older newcomers Ethan Wesloski and Tate Romney. Wesloski, a 23-year-old transfer from North Texas, is averaging 10.6 tackles per game and has been named Big 12 defensive player of the week three times this season. Romney, a 24-year-old transfer from Arizona State, has also recorded multiple double-digit tackle games in conference play.

Oklahoma State enters a matchup against No. 20 Houston following a four-game winning streak in which they scored at least 39 points per game.
