Oklo Inc. reports first revenue amid nuclear reactor milestones
Oklo Inc. has reported its first revenue in company history, totaling approximately $1.2 million, primarily from services. This follows the achievement of first criticality at its Groves isotope test reactor in Lockhart, Texas, in early August.
Despite this milestone, the company is not yet a commercial power provider. Its primary product, electricity sold via Aurora powerhouses, is still in development. Based on current schedules for the Aurora-INL project at the Idaho National Laboratory, the company has set an ambitious target to deploy its first powerhouse in 2028. The regulatory pathway through the Department of Energy involves three remaining steps after the successful completion of the Nuclear Safety Design Agreement and the Preliminary Documented Safety Analysis.
In recent financial activity, insider John Hanson sold 539 shares of Oklo stock at an average price of $39.77 to cover tax withholding obligations related to equity awards. The company's recent quarterly earnings showed a revenue of $1.21 million, significantly exceeding analyst estimates of $0.09 million, though earnings per share missed consensus estimates.
