Oksana Brovko supports Ukrainian independent media survival

Ukrainian journalism Oksana Brovko independent media war reporting Miguel Delibes Journalism Encounter

Oksana Brovko, director of the Association of Independent Journalists of Ukraine, has worked to ensure the survival of 150 local media outlets following the Russian invasion in February 2022. Most of these are small, resource-limited organizations that provide essential information to citizens in extreme environments.

To maintain operations, Brovko has secured international funding, insurance, and critical equipment, including computers, cameras, protective gear like helmets and bulletproof vests, generators, and satellite internet stations. Beyond logistical support, she has also promoted investigations into corruption within Ukraine.

Brovko is scheduled to inaugurate the Miguel Delibes Journalism Encounter in Valladolid, an event organized by El Norte de Castilla.
