Oksana Chusovitina aims for record ninth Olympic appearance

Oksana Chusovitina, a legendary gymnast who has competed internationally since 1989, has expressed her desire to qualify for a record-breaking ninth Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

Throughout her career, Chusovitina has represented several nations, including the Soviet Union, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Uzbekistan, and Germany. Her achievements include a gold medal with the CIS team in 1992 and an individual silver medal in vault for Germany at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. She currently competes for Uzbekistan.

Despite facing injuries that hindered her chances for the Paris Olympics, Chusovitina remains committed to continuing her career, noting that she competes against athletes much younger than her son.
