Oksana Chusovitina qualifies for Asian Games vault final

Uzbekistani gymnast Oksana Chusovitina has qualified for the vault final at the Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan. At 51 years old, she secured fourth place in the qualification round with a score of 13.266.

Chusovitina, a 1992 Olympic gold medalist with the Commonwealth of Independent States, has a long history of success at the Asian Games, including a gold medal in Busan (2002), a bronze in Hiroshima (1994), and silver medals in Incheon (2014) and Jakarta (2018).

Having competed in eight Olympic Games representing both the CIS and Uzbekistan, as well as Germany, Chusovitina has expressed interest in continuing her career with the goal of participating in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
