OKTA launches first battery energy storage systems
OKTA has launched its first battery energy storage systems, marking a significant step in the company’s transition toward sustainable energy. The project involves the deployment of two battery containers with a capacity of 4 MW.
These systems are integrated with the company’s 12 MW photovoltaic plant, allowing electricity generated from renewable sources to be stored and utilized during periods of optimal market conditions and demand. This investment is intended to improve operational flexibility, efficiency, and sustainability.
A third container is scheduled to become operational in the coming months. Once this phase is complete, the system is expected to provide approximately 6 MWh of storage capacity and 3 MW of output power, facilitating more effective use of solar energy in North Macedonia.
