Okta and CrowdStrike stocks surge on strong earnings and AI security demand
Cybersecurity firms Okta and CrowdStrike reported strong fiscal second-quarter earnings, driving significant surges in their share prices. Okta’s stock rose nearly 29%, while CrowdStrike experienced its best trading day on record with a 20% increase. Both companies exceeded analyst expectations and raised their financial guidance.
The performance is attributed to increased adoption of security solutions as businesses respond to rising AI-driven cyber threats. CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz described the current landscape as an ‘arms race,’ noting that artificial intelligence is simultaneously driving more attacks and increasing security spending. Okta CEO Todd McKinnon highlighted momentum in new product offerings, noting that the company has secured dozens of AI-related customer deals.
The positive results bolstered the broader cybersecurity sector, with companies such as Palo Alto Networks, Zscaler, and Rubrik each seeing gains of at least 10%.
