Oktagon MMA pursues legal action after extremist gesture at Frankfurt event
The MMA organization Oktagon has announced legal action and a lifetime ban against a woman who performed a Nazi salute during the German national anthem at a tournament in Frankfurt. Frankfurt police reported that the woman has since turned herself in and is under investigation. Oktagon stated that extremist behavior has no place at their events and contradicts their core values.
In a separate incident at the same event, fighter Tamerlan Dulatov faced scrutiny after displaying a Palestinian flag during his walkout. Dulatov defended his actions, stating that certain principles are more important to him than his career. Oktagon promoter Ondřej Novotný addressed both incidents, noting that while the organization remains apolitical, athletes are restricted to wearing only the official flags of the countries they represent.
