Oktoberfest Blumenau begins 41st edition in Brazil

The 41st edition of Oktoberfest Blumenau has commenced at Parque Vila Germânica in Santa Catarina, Brazil. The event, recognized as the largest German celebration in the Americas, is expected to generate approximately 450 million reais for the local economy, benefiting sectors such as hospitality, transport, and food services.

To ensure public safety, the Santa Catarina Military Police have deployed 360 officers and utilized advanced technology, including a network of over 400 video monitoring channels and facial recognition systems. The festival features a diverse program including parades, musical performances, and traditional German gastronomy.

New features for this edition include the 'Spaten Tisch'—a reserved seating area inspired by Munich traditions—and a dedicated 'Festzelt' pavilion. Accessibility has also been prioritized through the 'Oktober Mais Perto' mobile application, which offers 3D maps, real-time location sharing for groups, and translation into Brazilian Sign Language (Libras).
