Oktoberfest celebrations held in Wiehl and Donauwörth

Regional Oktoberfest celebrations have taken place in Wiehl and Donauwörth, featuring traditional Bavarian attire and festive music.

In Wiehl, the ‘Wiehler Wiesn’ at Hotel zur Post featured guests wearing Dirndls and Lederhosen. The event included live music from the band ‘Confect’ and traditional activities such as a beer mug holding competition. The venue was decorated with blue and white garlands to create an authentic atmosphere.

In Donauwörth, the 16th Kiwanis Oktoberfest commenced with the traditional tapping of the first beer barrel by Mayor Jürgen Sorré. This year’s festivities introduced a Ferris wheel as a new attraction. However, organizers noted that the event will seek a new location after 2026, as the current festival grounds are scheduled for redevelopment in preparation for the 2028 State Garden Show.
