Oktoberfest introduces yodeling courses for visitors
Visitors to the Munich Oktoberfest can participate in yodeling courses for the first time this year. Held in the Schützenlisl tent at the ‘Oidn Wiesn’, the sessions are led by Traudi Siferlinger, the artistic director of the Volkssängerzelt, and musical expert Anna Veit.
Siferlinger emphasizes that singing is healthy and serves to connect people. In addition to yodeling, the event features a ‘Gstanzl workshop’ for children, led by singer ‘Bäff’, who describes the traditional style as ‘Bavarian rap’. The yodeling sessions are designed to be accessible to all vocal ranges, focusing on melodies without lyrics to allow participants to find their own sound.
