Oktoberfest offers expanding vegetarian and vegan food options

Vegetarian and vegan food options are increasingly available at the Oktoberfest in Munich. While traditional dishes like roasted chicken, Obazda, and pork knuckle remain staples, various meat-free alternatives are being offered in the festival tents.

Popular vegetarian items include cheese Spätzle, dumplings, and various spreads. Vegan options highlighted by the official Oktoberfest website include Schupfnudeln, organic sauerkraut strudel, potato soup, pumpkin soup, quinoa, and soy steaks.

Specific offerings from previous years at major tents include marinated mountain lentil salad with pumpkin falafel at the Augustiner-Festhalle, vegan Seitangulasch with potato dumplings at the Armbrustschützenzelt, and various mushroom dishes at the Bräurosl.
