Oktubre album marks 40 years of Argentine rock influence

The 40th anniversary of Oktubre, the second and highly influential album by the Argentine rock band Patricio Rey y sus Redonditos de Ricota, has been marked by cultural reflections and musical tributes.

Released in 1986 during the presidency of Raúl Alfonsín, the album was considered groundbreaking for its subversive themes and its cover art, which referenced the 1917 Russian Revolution. The record played a significant role in the Argentine countercultural scene of the 1980s.

To commemorate the milestone, the band Rey Garufa y sus Timadores performed a special show at Arena Sur. The performance featured a complete rendition of the Oktubre album alongside other classics from the original band's repertoire, highlighting the enduring legacy of the work across generations.
