OKX Leads Euro Crypto Inflows After Binance Shuts EU Operations

The EU's MiCA framework, fully effective on 1 July 2026, requires crypto platforms to hold a market licence. Binance failed to obtain one and will cease all services for European users on 30 June 2026, halting trading, new sign‑ups and forcing customers to withdraw or transfer assets.

OKX secured both a MiCA licence and an EU MiFID II licence, positioning it as a fully regulated alternative. In the first week after MiCA’s start, on‑chain data show OKX received about $326 million of net deposits—the largest inflow among licensed platforms—while Binance saw roughly $1.18 billion leave.

To attract the displaced users, OKX launched a “Time to Switch” campaign offering an 8% cash‑back bonus on deposits and up to €400 in BTC for new customers, with a €10 million bonus pool and low trading fees.
