Ola Electric expands energy storage portfolio with Shakti range
Ola Electric has expanded its Shakti energy storage portfolio to include commercial, industrial, and utility-scale applications. Utilizing indigenous lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery technology, the company is diversifying its market presence beyond electric two-wheelers to leverage its cell manufacturing capabilities.
The new product range includes Shakti Gen2 for residential use, available in 4.6-kWh and 9.2-kWh versions with deliveries starting in November. For commercial and infrastructure needs, the company introduced the Shakti AC Rack, which offers 73 kWh of capacity with an integrated inverter, and the Shakti DC Rack, designed for telecom and critical infrastructure with capacities between 38-77 kWh. Both rack systems are scheduled for availability starting in March 2027.
For larger-scale requirements, the company launched Mahashakti, targeting industrial and utility-scale energy storage projects. Chairman and Managing Director Bhavish Aggarwal stated that the expansion aims to leverage the company’s Gigafactory and nationwide network to provide affordable energy storage solutions ranging from individual homes to the power grid.
