Olaf Jödicke named Germany’s Amateur of the Year

Olaf Jödicke of VfB Südharz has been named ‘Amateur des Jahres’ (Amateur of the Year) in Germany. He is the first person from Lower Saxony to receive this distinction.

The award ceremony took place in Walkenried and was attended by several prominent figures, including DFB Vice President Ronny Zimmermann and NFV President Ralf-Uwe Schaffert.

The event also served as a moment of reflection for local football history, specifically recalling the 2004 NFV-Pokal match where the fifth-division SV Südharz caused a major upset by defeating Eintracht Braunschweig.
