Olaf Lies inaugurates electric bus supercharger in Aurich

In Aurich, Lower Saxony, Minister President Olaf Lies and Edzards Reisen have inaugurated a new supercharger for electric buses. The facility utilizes battery-buffered charging technology provided by ELMI Power GmbH.

The system features a 340-kWh storage unit capable of simultaneously charging two electric buses at up to 375 kW each. By using a battery buffer, the technology allows for high-performance charging even with a modest 20 kW grid connection, reducing the strain on the local power network. The installation is integrated with a 70 kWp photovoltaic system on the roof of Edzards Reisen, allowing the company to use its own solar energy to power its growing fleet of approximately 100 buses.
