Olaiya Igwe denies reports of serious illness

Veteran Nigerian actor Olaiya Igwe has denied social media reports claiming he is seriously ill. The rumors began circulating after a video surfaced showing the actor appearing unwell.

Igwe clarified that the footage was actually a scene from a movie directed by filmmaker Mr Latin, in which he was portraying the role of a sick father. He expressed disappointment toward individuals who celebrated the false reports, while thanking those who reached out with genuine concern.

Igwe, whose real name is Ebun Oloyede, is a long-standing figure in the Nigerian film industry with over 100 film credits. He noted that while some recognized the footage as acting, others mistook it for a real-life health crisis.
