Olam Agri secures land in Delta State for animal feed plant

Olam Agri has been allocated approximately 100 hectares of land in Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State, for the establishment of an animal feed production plant. The Certificate of Occupancy was presented by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori at the Government House in Asaba.

Olam Agri Managing Director Amit Agarwal stated that the company selected the South-South and South-East regions to address supply gaps, as the company currently operates feed plants in the South-West. The new facility aims to bring production closer to customers in these regions and reduce dependence on supplies from the South-West.

Governor Oborevwori emphasized that the allocation is part of an effort to create an enabling environment for investors, stimulate economic activity, and improve food security. The Obi of Ogwashi-Uku, Obi Ifechukwudi Okonjo II, called on the company to ensure the host community benefits through employment, internships, and skills development.
