Latin American municipalities implement public infrastructure and lighting upgrades

Various municipalities across Latin America are implementing infrastructure projects focused on public lighting and safety.

In Argentina, the Municipality of General Pueyrredon has established an Emergency Committee to coordinate preventive actions against heavy rainfall expected from El Niño. In Mar del Plata, the Regional Port Consortium is modernizing its maritime signaling system by replacing beacons on the North, South, and Shelter breakwaters to improve navigation safety. Additionally, in Olavarría, LED lighting has been installed at the Hinojo and Sierra Chica sports courts, allowing for extended use during nighttime hours.

In Mexico, the municipal government of Cuautla has reported progress in its public lighting rehabilitation program, installing approximately 400 photocells across 19 neighborhoods to improve visibility and security.

In Chile, the community of Loncura saw the renovation of Calle Casma, which included repairs to a lookout structure and the installation of native landscaping, supported by GNL Quintero.
