Olavarría officials consider measures after rural road damage

The Municipality of Olavarría is evaluating exceptional measures following the viral spread of videos showing drivers performing reckless maneuvers on rural roads. These incidents occurred immediately after recent rainfall, violating municipal ordinances that prohibit circulation on local roads during such periods.

Local authorities report that these actions cause severe damage to the rural road network, rendering previously well-maintained sections nearly impassable. This deterioration disrupts communication with farms and educational institutions, hinders the transport of agricultural production, and complicates emergency response access.

The Secretariat of Public Works and the Legal Department are reviewing the recorded incidents to determine appropriate responses. The municipality emphasized that such behavior necessitates costly, repetitive maintenance work and urged citizens to report similar violations to the ‘Vecinos en Red’ WhatsApp service.
