Olavsfest festival concludes with mosque visit and pilgrimage mass
The Olavsfest festival in Trondheim concluded on August 3, 2026, featuring events that highlighted the festival's evolving identity. The final day included a pilgrimage mass at Nidaros Cathedral, where the Olav flame was brought in from Stiklestad.
In a move reflecting the festival's shift toward a more inclusive 'world festival' model, participants also visited the 'Bryggemoskeen' (the wharf mosque) in Trondheim. This mosque, operated by the Muslim Community in Trondheim (MSiT), is located in a protected wharf building from 1760. The visit was facilitated by the Council for Religious and Life-Stance Communities (STL).
