Olbia couple faces charges in €30 million ticket‑scalping tax evasion scheme

The Guardia di Finanza in Sassari uncovered a large‑scale ticket‑scalping operation run by a married couple residing in Olbia, Sardinia. Investigators found undeclared revenue exceeding €30 million and VAT evasion of about €6.5 million.

The pair purchased tens of thousands of tickets for football matches and major concerts between 2019 and 2024, spending over €1 million, and resold them online at inflated prices. To conceal the profits they routed earnings through a company registered in Switzerland, which prosecutors determined was only a façade while the business was managed entirely from Gallura.

Both spouses have been charged with tax omission and referred to the prosecutor’s office in Tempio Pausania. The case was also reported to the communications regulator Agcom for violations related to ticket scalping.
