Old Dominion defeats Maryland women’s soccer 2-0

The Maryland women’s soccer team suffered its first home loss of the season, falling 2-0 to Old Dominion at Ludwig Field. This marked the Terps’ second consecutive shutout loss.

Old Dominion took an early lead in the 20th minute when Madison Telmer scored following a pass from Riley Mullen. Although Maryland’s defense tightened in the first half, the Monarchs extended their lead in the 51st minute when Hannah Morgan converted a cross past goalkeeper Faith Luckey.

Maryland head coach Michael Marchiano noted that the team struggled with offensive execution and defensive lapses during key moments. Despite amassing several shots and attempts by players like Gemma Davitian and McKinley Heaven, the Terps were unable to capitalize on their opportunities.
