Old Island Mosque restored in Ripač, Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Old Island Mosque in Ripač, located on a large island in the Una River near Bihać, has been restored after decades of remaining in ruins. The mosque is a rare example of sacred architecture built on a river island in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The renovated structure utilizes traditional Bosnian architectural elements, including stone, wood, and traditional motifs. Following its reopening, the site has already begun attracting visitors, including tourists from Middle Eastern countries such as Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Qatar, who are drawn to the natural beauty of the Una River region.

Beyond its religious function, the mosque serves as a cultural heritage site and a potential landmark for local tourism, blending historical significance with the natural landscape of the area.
