Old Mosque in Orahovica to hold formal reopening ceremony

The Old Mosque in Orahovica, near Zenica, is scheduled for a formal reopening on Saturday, October 17. The ceremony will be attended by Reisul-ulema Husein-ef. Kavazović, who will symbolically delegate the opening rights to the mosque's benefactors.

The restoration of the mosque was funded by Džemila Isaković and her husband, Professor Dr. Suvad Isaković, both of whom are originally from the area. The reopening program includes religious ceremonies, such as the recitation of Jasini-šerif and tevhid, and a Mevlud celebration.

Local residents noted the historical importance of the building. While a new mosque was constructed in 2010 for daily prayers, the old mosque has remained a significant site for funeral prayers and community heritage.
