Old Mutual Uganda launches Thrive wellness application
Old Mutual Uganda has launched ‘Thrive by Old Mutual’, a digital wellness application designed to support physical, mental, financial, and nutritional wellbeing. Unveiled at an event in Bugolobi, Kampala, the platform provides users with tools to track health habits, participate in fitness challenges, and access resources for meditation, yoga, and nutrition.
The launch addresses rising health concerns in the region. According to the National Planning Authority’s State of Uganda Population Report 2025, mental health cases in Uganda increased by more than 71 per cent between 2021 and 2024.
Old Mutual executives emphasized the connection between financial security and overall health. Zac Kisesi, Managing Director of Old Mutual Investment Group Uganda, stated that financial wellbeing involves the confidence to make informed decisions and plan for the future. Andrew Makumbi, Managing Director of Old Mutual Insurance Uganda, noted that the platform allows insurers to help customers reduce risk by building healthier lifestyles.
