Old Navy expands beauty offerings and appoints new CEO

Old Navy is expanding its beauty offerings nationwide, moving beyond an initial pilot program. The rollout includes a private-label bath and body collection alongside third-party brands such as e.l.f. Cosmetics, Neutrogena, and Tree Hut. By the end of September, the beauty concept will be available in approximately 1,000 locations via a grab-and-go format, while 45 stores will continue to feature dedicated shop-in-shop layouts.

This expansion comes as Gap Inc. announces a leadership change for the Old Navy brand. Michael Francis, previously the chief customer officer, will succeed Haio Barbeito as CEO effective November 2. The transition follows a fiscal second-quarter report where Old Navy posted net sales of $2.1 billion, a 4% year-over-year decline. Despite the dip in sales and comparable store traffic, Gap Inc. shares rose 9% in extended trading following the announcement.
