Old Town Newhall fire destroys several businesses and a historic theatre

A devastating fire in Old Town Newhall, Santa Clarita, has destroyed several businesses, including The MAIN Theatre, Newhall Refinery, and Care Tucker Style House. The blaze, which began early Monday morning at Gary's Auto Body Shop, consumed a historic commercial building over 100 years old.

Local artists and business owners are facing significant losses of equipment, livelihoods, and personal heirlooms. Fundraisers have been launched to assist those impacted by the destruction. While The MAIN Theatre was lost, the nearby Canyon Theatre Guild was spared with only minor damage and has been cleared to continue its productions and workshops.

Firefighting efforts involved 112 firefighters and 58 pieces of apparatus to contain the blaze.
