Oldenburg police raid climate activist over fake train posters

Police conducted a raid on the home of climate activist Eika Jacob in Oldenburg following an ‘adbusting’ campaign. The action involved placing counterfeit posters in the Oldenburg main station that mimicked Deutsche Bahn branding to falsely advertise free train travel.

The investigation was launched after Jacob was allegedly filmed attaching the posters. A search warrant was issued by the Oldenburg District Court on the grounds that the modification of the advertisements violated Deutsche Bahn’s copyright. During the raid, officers searched the residence, including children's rooms, seeking evidence such as printers used to produce the materials. The campaign is linked to the Widerstandskollektiv, an organization succeeding the ‘Letzte Generation’ group.
