Ole Miss defensive coach Pete Golding seeks consistency

Ole Miss head coach Pete Golding has expressed frustration regarding the inconsistency of the Rebels’ defense this season. While the unit has demonstrated elite potential, Golding noted that performance has been “hit or miss.”

The defense showed significant strength in recent weeks, holding Vanderbilt to 17 points and limiting Missouri to just three points and 39 rushing yards. However, the team struggled against Texas, allowing 24 points in the first half and 419 total offensive yards in a 34-27 loss.

Despite forcing three turnovers and shutting out Texas in the third quarter, the defense's inability to maintain a high standard every week remains a primary concern for the coaching staff.
