Ole Miss prepares for season opener against No. 24 Louisville

The No. 9 Ole Miss Rebels are set to open their season against the No. 24 Louisville Cardinals this Sunday at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. The matchup marks the first regular-season game for Ole Miss head coach Pete Golding.

Louisville enters the contest led by head coach Jeff Brohm and new dual-threat quarterback Lincoln Kienholz, formerly of Ohio State. Ole Miss defensive preparations are expected to focus on containing Kienholz’s mobility and managing Louisville’s running game, led by junior Isaac Brown.

Following a 13-2 season that reached the College Football Playoff semifinals, Ole Miss faces high expectations. The team continues to rely on the performance of quarterback Trinidad Chambliss and running back Kewan Lacy, both of whom are central to the program’s recent success and national marketing efforts.
