Ole Miss secures early football commitments and basketball transfer

Ole Miss is seeing early momentum in its recruiting efforts across both football and basketball. In football, the program has secured two in-state commitments for the 2028 class: wide receiver Latedrick Mallard from McComb and Antavion Allen, who is ranked as the No. 2 player in Mississippi. The coaching staff, led by Pete Golding, is also actively pursuing high-profile prospects, including four-star tight end Braxton Rein and national running back recruit Zaiden Jernigan.

In basketball, Ole Miss has added Corey Stephenson to its 2026-27 recruiting class. Stephenson, a guard who previously played for Cal State Bakersfield and FIU, joins the program after a stint with the Detroit Pistons in the NBA Summer League. His ability to return to college athletics follows a California court injunction regarding NCAA eligibility rules.
