Ole Miss soccer defeats Louisiana 2-1 for first road win

Ole Miss soccer secured its first road victory of the season with a 2-1 win against Louisiana at the Home Bank Soccer & Track Complex in Lafayette. The Rebels, led by first-year head coach Todd Shulenberger, established an early lead in the first half by scoring two goals within a 56-second span.

Isabella Pontieri opened the scoring at the 10:09 mark following an assist from Audrey Shackelford. Just 56 seconds later, Paxton Bock doubled the lead after receiving a pass from Maizy Kluksdal. Louisiana managed to narrow the deficit in the 54th minute when Miku Kurihara scored, but the Rebels' defense, anchored by goalkeeper Taylor Prigge, held the lead through the final minutes of the match.

With this win, Ole Miss improves to a 2-0-0 record for the season, following a previous victory over Murray State.
