OLED monitor prices projected to decline through 2027
Market research firm Omdia projects a significant increase in global OLED monitor panel shipments, reaching 6.1 million units in 2026—a 79% increase over the previous year. Shipments are expected to grow further to 7.5 million units in 2027 as more manufacturers adopt the technology.
This increase in supply is expected to drive down consumer prices. While high-end 240Hz OLED gaming monitors launched in late 2022 at prices near US$ 1,000, recent market trends show price cuts exceeding 40% for 27-inch models. Projections suggest OLED monitor prices could reach the US$ 300 range by 2027.
The competitive landscape is also shifting. While Samsung Display and LG Display have long led the market, the entry of TCL China Star is expected to increase competition and pressure costs. TCL China Star is scheduled to begin shipments to MSI in the third quarter of 2026.
