Oleiros inaugurates Pepe Mujica seaside promenade

The municipality of Oleiros has officially inaugurated the 'Pepe Mujica' seaside promenade, a continuous walkway connecting Santa Cristina and O Graxalque along the O Burgo estuary. The promenade was named in honor of the former Uruguayan president to celebrate his historical legacy and political example.

The ceremony was attended by local officials and dozens of Uruguayan citizens. Valentín González Formoso, president of the Deputación de A Coruña, praised the area's transformation, while the Uruguayan Ambassador to Spain, Bernardo Greives, noted that the name honors a man who valued social coexistence.

A recorded message from former Uruguayan Vice President Lucía Topolanski was featured during the event, where she expressed that naming a promenade in Galicia was a profound tribute. Additionally, Uruguayan Senator Blanca Rodríguez participated in the ceremony to honor the late leader's memory.
